"Structure & Rupture": impressive structural art - your online video course

As contradictory as it sounds, both of these elements belong together. Because one leads to the other.

Rupture. That sounds so enticing. Like something new. Exciting. Unpredictable. That's exactly what you experience with ruptures in your art.

And how does the structure fit in? Perfectly, of course. Because structures are the basis for all ruptures. At least in this form of textured art: with marble powder, swamp lime and facet varnish. Combined with effect sprays, oil crayons and alcohol inks - to ensure that the cracks and textures are clearly visible. Finished with resin - which also ensures a strong hold and exceptional gloss.

Ready for your online course with artist Stefanie Etter?

How to create your "Structure & Rupture" work - the theory

Which materials do you use to create fascinating structures on your canvas? Which ones go well together? How do you apply them? How do you colour them? How do they crack? How do they adhere? And then? Finished?

Questions upon questions when it comes to structural art. That's why this video course gives you answers. To these questions and a few more. And once you've watched it, you'll give yourself a gift: your own structural art.

Important for you: This online course is about structures made from marble powder, swamp lime and facet varnish.

What you get in the online video course "Structure & Departure" - the practice

• Working in several steps: Because you need to allow time for your materials to dry.
• Working with different textured materials: Learn about different crack formations (ruptures) and different adhesion to the painting body.
• Setting up the background: How to create a vibrant base for your artwork. This much we can already reveal: not without a stencil.
• Working with marble powder mix: Why the usual mixing ratio won't get you anywhere here. And how best to apply your mixture.
• Working with swamp lime mixture: How it works and how to make it last.
• Working with facet varnish: Use texture medium number three for your artwork.
• Work over structural materials: Add colour with effect sprays - and the right nozzles.
• Take a break: Drying time. And everything you need to know on the subject: how, how long, how warm?
• Handling dried swamp lime: its fate is in your hands. You control where the lime putty is - and how you fix it.
• Incorporating the fractures into the design: Oil crayons are used here.
• Painting edges: Include the body of the painting in your design. Completely without brushstrokes.
• Additional colours: even more vibrancy and structure for your work.
• Finish or continue: your decision.
• Working with resin: Prepare the canvas for resin. And then continue to create with clear and coloured resin and fix individual structures.
• Finishing touches: remove any bubbles and impurities.

It's not easy for us to find the right balance here. On the one hand, we want to tell you what you get with the self-study course. On the other hand, we don't want to give too much away. That's clear.

You can expect everything we've described and more. Now it's up to you: time to get going? With structure?

Questions and answers about the "Structure & Rupture" video Course

What will I learn with this course?
Important things about the aforementioned structural materials. How different they are in terms of their crack formation and break-up. How to combine them in your work. And how to colour them. Because only then do the cracks often unfold their full potential. On you and everyone else who may marvel at your work of art.

Can I do the course even if I have no experience with the materials mentioned?
We think so: If you're up for it, then you can. Stefanie Etter explains all the steps and you can see from three different perspectives exactly what she does and when. And of course you can rewind or skip to certain points in the video if you want to watch something again.

Will I get my money back if I don't like the course?
In this case, a purchase is a purchase. So you won't get your money back. We have described the course in as much detail as possible so that you can judge whether you like it.

Can I watch the course more than once?
As often as you like. Watch it as often as you like until you feel confident about your own work. Whether that's once or ten times. In whole or in part - your choice. You retain access for as long as we can make it technically possible.

You've already made your decision, haven't you?
If not, please read the description of the online self-study course "Structure & Rupture" again. It won't take that long. And then? It's time to get going!
